Open the editor and your most recent recording is already on the timeline, ready to trim. To start from a blank timeline or add other footage, use File › Import media.
The preview plays your video at the top. The properties panel on the right appears when you select a clip. The timeline runs along the bottom, with a toolbar and the menu bar (File · Edit · View · Clip · Insert · Help) above it.
Click the ⛶ button in the corner of the preview to watch full-screen, with a scrub bar to seek and the output resolution + estimated file size shown along the bottom. On a multi-monitor setup, ⧉ opens a live preview on your other screen that updates in real time while you keep editing on your main screen — a two-monitor edit bay. Press Esc to exit.
Trim and split → add text or captions → polish out pauses → pick your aspect ratio → export or publish. Press Space anytime to play or pause.
Add extra clips, images or audio with File › Import media (MP4, MOV, WEBM, PNG, JPG, GIF, MP3, WAV, M4A). Importing your own media is a Pro feature — editing your current recording is always free.

Choosing File › New Project while you have work open now asks “Do you wish to save this project before closing it?” — with Save Project, Don't Save, or ✕ to cancel and keep editing. So a new project never quietly wipes out unsaved work, and anything you saved is always waiting for you under File › Open Projects.
There are two ways to bring your own media into a project — and they work very differently. Here's which to use, and how storage works.
Clicking ＋ Import (or File › Import media) copies the file into your project and uploads it to your cloud account. Because it lives in the cloud, that media is available on every device you sign in on and re-downloads automatically as you edit — start on your laptop, finish on another computer. Imported files count toward your storage (below). Import is a Pro feature.
Under the Connections menu, This Computer lets you map a folder from your machine (Chrome / Edge). Mapping does not import or copy anything — it just lets you browse that folder and pull files in as references. A referenced file is read straight from your disk only when you preview or render it: nothing is uploaded, no copy is made, and it uses none of your storage. Its bin subtitle reads “· Local Drive” (vs “· imported”).
The trade-off: because the file lives only on your computer, referenced media is device-specific. Open the project on another machine and those clips prompt you to re-map the folder to reconnect them (one click). Ideal for large local libraries you don't want to upload.
OneDrive & Dropbox: if their desktop app syncs a folder to your PC, just map that synced folder with This Computer — no separate login needed.

Pro accounts include 2 GB of cloud storage for imported media and saved recordings. Mapped / Local Drive files don't count — only imported (uploaded) files do, so mapping big local libraries is “free” storage-wise.
Need more room? Add storage in 500 MB blocks — stack as many as you like and your online storage grows accordingly. Removing an imported file frees its space. (Storage add-ons — coming soon.)
Open a project that uses mapped local files and a big centred “Reconnecting Local Files” progress card shows each file linking back up — no more wondering whether clips are still loading. If a file has moved, Replace can now map a single file straight from your disk (nothing uploaded), and the Replace window’s files-bin list has a live search so you find the right clip fast.
Film on the go with your phone, then move those clips straight onto your computer over Wi‑Fi — no cable, no third‑party transfer app, no cloud upload. Nothing touches our servers; your files travel directly from your phone to your computer.
Open Connections › 📱 Cell Phone (or the Phone Transfer button on a blank project). A window opens with a QR code — scan it with your phone's camera, or type the short link it shows into your phone's browser. No app to install; it just opens a page.
Your phone and computer then connect to each other directly (peer‑to‑peer, the same technology behind our live recording guests) — as soon as it says Connection Established, tap ＋ Choose files to send on your phone and pick anything: photos, video, whatever you just shot. Hit Send and watch it arrive on your computer in real time, with transfer speed and time remaining shown on your phone.
Before your phone can send anything, pick a destination folder on your computer in step 1 of the window. This is required — files never vanish into a temporary download with nowhere to land. Once chosen, your phone shows the folder name so you know exactly where things are going, and you can drag received files straight onto your timeline from the Files bin.
Sending a large video and your Wi‑Fi blips? The transfer automatically reconnects and resumes from where it left off — it does not re‑send bytes that already arrived. This matters most for big phone videos, where restarting a 2 GB file from zero would be painful. You can even close the window mid‑transfer; reopening it and choosing the same folder picks the transfer back up.
Send files you've already transferred and the duplicates are skipped — the progress totals now reflect exactly what's actually being sent, so 3 new files out of 10 shows as 3 of 3, not 3 of 10 forever. When everything lands, a success modal confirms the transfer and closes itself with a short auto-close countdown.
Once files finish sending, your phone can offer to delete the originals to free up space — only ever offered when your browser can safely do it, so you'll never see a delete option that doesn't actually work.
Clips live on the Main track and any extra layers you add with the Layer button — higher layers draw on top. Double-click a layer name to rename it, drag a name up or down to reorder, and use each layer's own controls to mute or hide it.
Drag a clip to slide it along the timeline or drop it onto another layer. Drag either edge to trim. Turn on Snap (View › Snap) so edges click to neighbours and the playhead, and Auto Move so deleting a clip slides the rest left to close the gap.
Move the playhead where you want the cut, then press S or use Clip › Split. The selected clip splits in two at the playhead.
Click a clip to select it; Ctrl/⌘ + Click to select several. The properties panel shows the selected clip's fade, speed, duration and transition.
Select a clip and a floating toolbar appears beneath it (the same actions live in the Clip menu and the props panel):
Set a single clip from 25%–1000% in the props panel, or use Speed on the toolbar to set every clip to one speed at once. Audio stays pitch-corrected — no chipmunk.
Turn on View › Show Waveforms to see each clip's audio. Zoom the timeline with the +/− buttons, the slider, or Ctrl + Wheel; use the scrollbar along the bottom to pan.
Drag a box across an empty part of the timeline to draw a dotted selection — every clip it touches highlights live, and they're all selected when you let go. Then drag the group to move them together in any direction, or press Del to remove them all at once (a toast confirms “Deleted N clips”, and a single Ctrl/⌘ + Z brings them back). It works zoomed out, and auto-scrolls when you drag to the left or right edge.
With several clips selected, the properties panel shows a combined Speed and Duration you can set for all of them at once, and a toolbar floats over the selection with Crop · Scale · Delete · Download. Crop or Scale is copied to every selected clip; Delete removes them all (with a confirm); Download zips all the source files into one project-date.zip. You can also Ctrl/⌘-drag a selected clip's edge to time-stretch the whole selection to one speed.
Open Extras › Fix Gaps and one click closes every empty space between clips on the Main track. Everything ripples together — audio, text and markers shift in step so nothing drifts out of sync — and a results modal shows how many gaps were closed and how much time you tightened up.
Selected an area? The blue selected-area pill now includes a render / export icon that jumps straight to Export with that region ready to go. A selected clip’s toolbar also has a 🎬 Export button that exports just that clip’s section — perfect for pulling one moment out of a long edit.
Add one with Insert › Text (or the ＋ Text button) — choose a Title (big, centred), a Lower-third (name/label strip, low-left) or a Callout (small pill near the top). Drag it on the preview to position, and set its start/end, font size, weight, alignment, colour and background in the props panel.
Open Insert › Captions (or the Captions button) and click Generate. Captions read your recording's speech, show on the video in the editor, and burn into the export.
Captions reuse the free transcript captured live while you recorded (in a supported browser like Chrome) when that's accurate enough. For exact word-by-word timing, click Word-perfect timing (AI) to force AI transcription.
Pick from eight styles — Clean, Word Highlight, Karaoke, Word Boxes, Brand Band, Explainer, Pop, Impact. Place captions Top, Middle, Bottom, or Freeform (drag them on the video), scale them with the Size slider, edit any cue's text in the list, toggle Show on video, and Download .SRT.
Open Clip › Pan / Crop (or the Crop icon in a selected clip's header). Drag the box to move it and drag a handle to resize — the cropped region scales to fill the frame, so you can crop out a toolbar and punch right in. Click ▣ Fit to Project to snap the box to your project's aspect ratio (then still move and scale it). This is one fixed crop for the whole clip.
Open Clip › Animated Zoom (or the Scale icon). Drag the target box, then move the playhead and drop keyframes — the crop animates smoothly between them in both the preview and the export. Presets make a punch-in one click, and the ease control shapes the motion.
Choose 16:9 (widescreen), 9:16 (vertical, for Reels/TikTok/Shorts) or 1:1 (square) from the Aspect dropdown or View › Aspect. When it isn't 16:9, pick Fit (whole frame with a blurred fill behind letterboxing) or Fill (crop to fill — use the ↔ / ↕ pan sliders to choose which part shows).
Nudging the crop or scale box takes a fine touch, so the Pan / Crop and Animated Zoom modals keep their own undo. If a drag goes too far, step back one change at a time with Ctrl/⌘ + Z right there in the modal — you get the framing exactly right without leaving the dialog or disturbing the rest of your edit.
Open Insert › Background (or the Background button) to wrap your recording in a gradient or wallpaper with padding, rounded corners and a soft drop shadow — the premium screen-recording look. Any image in your Media Bin can be used as the background. It shows live and burns into the export.
Give any clip a fade-in or fade-out in the props panel. Click a fade to choose its style — Fade, Soft Glow, Blur, or Fade to Black.
When a clip sits directly after another on the same lane, the props panel shows a Transition — Crossfade, Dissolve or Wipe (with direction and length) — that blends the two clips together.
In the File Bin's All Media ▾ menu pick 🎵 Royalty-Free Music to browse a built-in library by category, with a "duck under speech" toggle so the music dips when you talk. You can also Browse premium AudioJungle tracks — preview one, drop the watermarked preview on your timeline to test the fit, then license the clean file; your added previews live under 💎 Premium Tracks in the bin. Adding music counts as an import, so it's a Pro feature.
Open Insert › Beat Sync (or the 🎵 Beat Sync button next to Background) to build a beat-matched slideshow. Pick a music track from your bin and click Analyze — the beats are detected right in your browser (no upload) and it shows the track's tempo and beat count. Choose Cut every 1 / 2 / 4 / 8 beats, select the images or clips to use, then Place: each clip is trimmed to a beat and laid end-to-end in time with the music, on their own lanes, as a single undo step. Turn on 🎲 Randomize to shuffle the order and 🔁 Repeat to fill to loop your clips when you have fewer than the beats need.
Open the Polish button on the toolbar. Nothing is deleted until you click Remove, and each cleanup is a single undo step.

Analyze speech transcribes your recording (Whisper) and highlights spoken fillers like um, uh, erm in red — optionally soft fillers like like, so, basically, you know. Then remove them all in one step. Because it uploads audio to transcribe, it needs a free account (included at no cost).

It's a single undo step, so Ctrl/⌘ + Z restores your full project.
Open File › Generate YouTube SEO to turn your recording into a catchy title (plus alternates), an SEO description, timestamped chapters and tags. Copy any section, or Copy all for a YouTube-ready description with the chapter list built in.
Open File › Export Blog Article to write a complete, SEO-ready blog post from your recording's transcript. Set a goal, tone, length and any target keywords, then let it write — you get a headline, meta description, the full article, suggested keywords and FAQs, plus live SEO and GEO (AI answer-engine) scores with tips to lift them. Download it as HTML, Markdown, PDF or plain text, or ♻ Regenerate for a fresh take. It needs a transcript, so record with EZ Web Streams (or generate captions) first.
Select a clip and click 🎙️ Clean Audio in its header. Our servers strip background noise and hiss and drop the cleaned track into your editor — great for fans, traffic or room hum behind your voice.
Open Insert › AI Voiceover, type your script (up to 4,000 characters) and pick one of six natural voices — Alloy (neutral), Echo (warm), Fable (expressive), Onyx (deep), Nova (bright) or Shimmer (soft). Generate and the narration lands on your timeline as an audio clip you can trim, fade and duck under music like any other — perfect for faceless videos and tutorials.
Captions (eight animated styles), Polish (remove pauses & fillers) and YouTube AI metadata each have their own section — all read the same transcript.
Your edit autosaves in this browser. Use File › Save Project to save on demand and File › Open Projects to reopen a saved timeline. Sign in to name projects and keep them across sessions.
Save a copy now warns you when the name matches an existing project — Save Over replaces it, and the previous version is kept: bring it back anytime with the ↩ button in Open Projects. The Save dialog also lists your recent projects as a quick-pick, and when you come back to the editor a “Latest Project Restored” card confirms exactly which project just reopened.
Open File › Export. Exports are MP4 automatically — there's no format to choose (browsers that can't produce MP4 quietly fall back to WebM on their own). Tick Export Selected Area to render just the blue selected region of your timeline, or Export Full Timeline for the whole edit. Use Choose Save Location to pick a folder first and your finished video saves straight into it — no digging through Downloads. Free exports are capped at 5 minutes; longer exports need Pro.
The 💎 Quality / Preset dropdown in the export header sets size and quality in one click: platform presets for YouTube 1080p, TikTok / Instagram / Shorts (9:16), LinkedIn and X / Twitter, plus High Quality master exports at 16, 24 or 40 Mbps for archiving or re-editing elsewhere. Match Source automatically matches your highest-bitrate clip, so the export is as good as the footage that went in.
At the bottom of the export modal: Draft renders a fast ~480p preview to sanity-check the cut; ⚡ Fast Render (Agent) hands the job to the free EZ Render Agent on your PC (below) for the quickest full-quality export; and Slower Browser Render (formerly “Render & download”) renders entirely in the browser — no install needed. While a render runs, a full-width Cancel Render bar lets you stop it anytime.
The EZ Render Agent is a free Windows companion app (download it here) that renders exports on your own computer with ffmpeg — typically 5–20× faster than in-browser rendering. Install it once, leave it running, and Fast Render (Agent) lights up in the export modal. It also rescues phone footage: HEVC / H.265 videos that play black in some browsers convert to universally-playable H.264 with one click — look for Fix with Render Agent when the editor spots one.
Exports run in the background, so you don't have to babysit the progress bar. The editor speaks up as it works — you'll hear “Export half way done” at the halfway mark and “Export completed” the moment your video is finished and saved to your chosen folder (or Downloads). Go grab a coffee and let it call you back.
Choosing File › New Project with work open first asks whether to Save Project before it closes — Don't Save to clear the decks, or ✕ to cancel. Saved projects reopen anytime from File › Open Projects.
On the YouTube tab, link your channel and publish straight to YouTube as Unlisted — AI can suggest a title, description and tags. The AI suggestions now work even for local-file projects with no transcript — they're written from your clip names and any notes you add. Publishing to YouTube is a Pro feature.
File › Mute All Timelines silences (or un-silences) every layer at once — handy for a quiet preview.

EZ Web Streams (“the Service”) is operated by AI Canadian Solutions (“AICS”, “we”, “us”), based in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@aicanadiansolutions.ca.
EZ Web Streams is designed to be private by default. Basic screen and webcam recording, and the built-in editing (trim, split, layers, fades, blur, clean-up), happen entirely on your device, inside your browser. That media is not uploaded to us. If you use the Service without an account, your recordings and edits stay on your device only.
Some features are cloud-based and do send data off your device — for example saving projects to your account, creating share links, AI clean-up, and publishing to YouTube. We describe each of these below. You control when they run: nothing leaves your device until you choose a cloud feature.
To provide accounts we collect your email address and issue authentication tokens (used to keep you signed in). We sign you in with a one-time email link, so we do not store a password.
When you are signed in and use cloud features, your recordings, imported media (images, audio, video) and saved projects are uploaded to and stored in Amazon S3 in the ca-central-1 (Canada) region, inside a per-user folder. These files are private; they are served to you through short-lived, presigned URLs rather than being publicly listed. Anonymous (not signed-in) users’ recordings and edits are never uploaded.
Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles card data directly. We store your subscription status (e.g. whether your account is Free, on trial, or Pro) and related identifiers needed to manage billing.
These only run when you choose to use them:
When you invite guests, each guest’s camera and microphone stream peer-to-peer to the host over WebRTC (relayed through a TURN server when a direct connection isn’t possible). Guest media is not stored on our servers unless the host records the session. Guests provide a name and an optional email, which are shown to the host.
We use your browser’s localStorage to keep your authentication token and remember your preferences (such as camera positions and settings). This stays in your browser.
Like most websites, our servers may process basic technical information (such as IP address and request logs) as needed to deliver the Service and keep it secure. We do not use these to build advertising profiles.
We do not sell your personal information.
Where applicable law (such as Canadian privacy law or the GDPR) requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service you sign up for); your consent (for optional features such as AI processing and YouTube publishing, and for any recording you initiate); our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service); and legal obligations (such as tax and accounting records for payments).
We share limited data with trusted service providers only to deliver the features above:
Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Your cloud files are stored in Canada (AWS ca-central-1). However, some sub-processors (for example Stripe, OpenAI and Google) are based in the United States or operate globally, so certain data may be processed outside Canada. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
We keep account information and cloud-stored content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete a recording or project, we remove it from active storage. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records (for example billing records) to meet legal obligations. Data that stays on your own device is under your control.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent for optional features. You can delete individual recordings and projects yourself, and you can revoke YouTube access from your Google account settings. To request access, export, or deletion of your account data, email support@aicanadiansolutions.ca from your account email address and we will respond within a reasonable time.
You are responsible for obtaining any consent required by law before recording other people, their voices, their screens, or their surroundings. Recording, wiretapping and privacy laws vary by country, province and state — in some places all parties must consent. EZ Web Streams is a tool; you are responsible for using it lawfully and for informing guests and participants that a session is being recorded.
We protect data in transit with TLS/HTTPS, keep cloud files private with per-user storage and short-lived presigned URLs, and delegate card handling to Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable technical and organizational measures.
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes may be communicated through the Service. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and AI Canadian Solutions (“AICS”, “we”, “us”), based in Ontario, Canada, governing your use of the EZ Web Streams website and application (“the Service”). Please read them carefully.
By accessing or using the Service — including by creating an account — you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.
EZ Web Streams is a browser-based screen and webcam recorder and editor. Basic recording and editing run on your device. Optional features — including cloud storage of recordings and projects, share links, AI clean-up and assistance, live guest cameras, and publishing to YouTube — send data off your device when you choose to use them, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information (such as a valid email address) and to keep your account secure. Because we use email sign-in links, anyone with access to your email inbox may be able to access your account — keep your inbox secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

You own your recordings, imported media and projects (“Your Content”). We do not claim ownership of it. To operate the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit and display Your Content solely to provide the features you use — for example, storing files in cloud storage, generating share links you create, sending audio to transcription when you use AI clean-up, and uploading a video to YouTube when you choose to publish. This license exists only to run the Service for you and ends when you delete the content or close your account, subject to reasonable backup and legal-retention periods. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of important recordings.
Pro plans are optional paid subscriptions billed through Stripe on a recurring basis (for example monthly or annually) at the price shown at checkout, plus applicable taxes. By subscribing you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method automatically at the start of each billing period until you cancel.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account or by contacting us. When you cancel, your Pro plan stays active until the end of your current billing period, after which it will not renew and you won’t be charged again. You keep access to everything you’ve created.
Monthly plans are billed in advance and are non-refundable for the current billing period — but because EZ Web Streams offers a free plan with no time limit, you can evaluate the product fully before subscribing.
Annual plans include a 14-day money-back guarantee: if you’re not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of your initial annual purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, annual plans are non-refundable, though you may cancel at any time to prevent future renewals.
We’re also happy to review refunds at our discretion for duplicate charges, billing errors, or a technical problem that prevented you from using Pro — email ezwebstreams@aicanadiansolutions.ca within 14 days of the charge.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Taxes, where applicable, are non-refundable.
The Service integrates with third parties including Stripe (payments), OpenAI (AI transcription and assistance), and Google / YouTube (video publishing). Your use of those features is also subject to the respective provider’s terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recordings, uploads or exports will always succeed or be preserved. You use the Service at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AICS and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, recordings, profits or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or CAD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AICS from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party — including any claim that you recorded someone without required consent.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where necessary to protect the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licenses granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity) will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence.
