Step 1 — Turn on "Reduce background noise" before you record
On the record page, pick your microphone, then switch on the Reduce background noise toggle. From that moment your mic feed runs through a real-time filter that pulls down fan hum, steady hiss and light echo — so the audio is cleaner going in, not just fixable later.
Step 2 — Do a five-second test take
Record yourself saying a sentence at your normal volume. Stop, play it back, and listen to the gaps between words — that's where noise hides. With the toggle on, those gaps should sit quiet instead of humming. If your voice sounds natural and the background dropped away, you're set.

How it compares
